Two vehicles sideswiped on Route 211 east of Washington about 12:30 a.m. last Thursday morning. A 1952 International bus operated by Wilbur Bass, Jr. of Leesburg, Florida and a 56 Chevrolet owned and operated by Gary Lewis Deal of Sperryville were involved. The vehicles met on a curve and grade at the west end of the dual lane and sideswiped. Damage was estimated at $200 to Deal’s car and $10 to the bus which was carrying migrant laborers. No Charges were made. At 5:45 the same morning a 1963 Pontiac operated by Raymond Haskel Blosser, Jr. of Stanley struck a cow on Route 211 a mile east of Washington. The cow, owned by Edwin Scroggins, was killed and the vehicle damaged to the extent of $250. No charges were made and Blosser was not injured. Trooper W. A. Buntin investigated the two crashes. Two single-vehicle crashes occurred Friday and one on Saturday, according to Trooper J. B. Willis who investigated, cand a two-car collision Saturday also. At 1:55 a.m. July 12 a mile and eight tenths north of Huntly on Route 522, Ronald Wayne Chadwell of Flint Hill lost control of a 1962 Chrysler and ran off the right of the road. He came back onto the highway and went off the, right of it again, struck a bank and overturned. Chadwell sustained lacerations of the head.
