Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Compton were in Arlington to visit Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wharton and in Washington, D. C. where they visited Mrs. Fannie Compton who is ill. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Settle had as their guests Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Settle and family of Alexandria and Mrs. Berkley Turner and son of The Plains. Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Hoffman and sons Tommy and Danny and Miss Linda Rast, all of Memphis, Tenn. were guests from Sunday until Tuesday of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Priest. The Priests and Hoffmans and Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Lawrence and children joined other members of the family at the home of Mrs. Jacob Heflin in Warrenton for a get together. Mr. and Mrs. George Lawrence and family returned home Sunday after spending a week at Seashore State Park, Virginia Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Settle and children were visitors Sunday of Mrs. Willie Settle at Elkwood. Callers Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. S. D. Hutton were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Day of Warrenton, Mrs. Berkley Turner, The Plains and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hackley, Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Williams and Mrs. Irma Holmes and their families.
The Rev. and Mrs. Fletcher Osborne spent the weekend in Mt. Jackson and were dinner guests Saturday evening of the Rev. and Mrs. S.W.T. Hedricks. Tuesday dinner guests of the Osbornes were Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Morefield of Richmond.
Mr. and Mrs. David Martin and children spent last Wednesday in Washington, D. C. and visited the Zoo.
Mrs. C. J. Moss has returned to her home after spending a week at the home of Mrs. Lacy Wilkerson in Front Royal. Mrs. Rachel Harrington of Alexandria visited her mother, Mrs. Moss on Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Bowey attended the annual Anchors family picnic Saturday in Vienna. On Tuesday Mrs. Bowey was a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Maxsell in Silver Spring, Md.

Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Giles of Warrenton were evening visitors Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Payne and son Billy.
Mrs. Sarah Latham and Susan were dinner guests Sunday of Mrs. C. C. Cockerill and Mr. and Mrs. James W. Cockerill in Herndon. In the evening they were guests for a cookout at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Schuermann and Mrs. Ellenora Schuermann at Rixeyville who also had as their houseguest Mrs. Myrtle Bailey of Arlington.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Newton and daughter of Round Lake Park, 111. are expected to arrive Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Riley to spend a week. Visitors Sunday of the Rileys were Mr. and Mrs. Leland Walter and family of Culpeper.
Mrs. Edward Schurtz of Springfield has returned home after spending several days with her father, C. A. Smith.
