Finance Committee
H. S. Barksdale of Flint Hill has agreed to serve as a member of the finance committee for the re-election campaign of Rep. John O. Marsh, Jr., according to Alson- H. Smith, Jr. of Winchester who is chairman of the Marsh for Congress Committee and manager of the campaign. Heading the finance committee is R. R. (Jake) Smith of Staunton.
A campaign planning meeting was held at Hotel Ingleside by county and city Democratic Chairman of the Seventh District, members of the Seventh District Democratic Committee and Congressman Marsh. Marsh, who was unopposed for renomination, is running for a fourth term in Congress.
Other members of the finance committee for Mr. Marsh from nearby counties are Giles Miller, Jr., George Beard, and James E. Cornett of Culpeper; G. L. Baughan, H. N. T. Graves, Hon. C. D. Price and M. R. Sullivan, Page County; Howard Dunchan, John F. Ewell and Claude Stokes, Warren; A. Preston Moore, N. Harry Gibbs and C. E. Lillard, Madison. The Seventh District encompasses Charlottesville and Albemarle County, Augusta, Bath, Clarke, Fluvanna, Frederick, Greene and Orange Counties; Rockbridge County and City of Lexington, Rockingham and Shenandoah counties; Beuna Vista, Harrisonburg, Staunton, Waynesboro and Winchester, in addition to those named above. All are represented with members of the finance committee.
