“Miss Shenandoah Apple Blossom” of 1968, Miss Janice Kathryn Minnich, Martinsburg, W. Va., will be a special guest in Spenyville on Thursday and will be Grand Marshal of the annual Sperryville Firemen’s parade at 7 p. m. that day. Miss Minnich is the good-will representative of the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival for a year, having won the beauty and personality title at the springtime fete in Winchester on May 3. In August she and her mother, Mrs. Albert Minnich, will fly to Palm Beach, Florida, where they will both be guests for a week of tht Holiday Inn of Palm Beach. Each annual winner of the Festival title spends a week in the fabuloui ; Florida resort, where she speak: to civic groups, Is entertained bj civic clubs and restaurants an< | has a busy schedule oi , sight-seeing. .
“Miss Apple KSssoriT *w£ graduated from Martlnsbut) Senior High School on June 1C where, as a senior, she was a member of the National Honor Society, a varsity cheerleader, and was chosen to attend the World Affairs and Science Seminars at Shepherd College, Shepherdstown, W. Va. She was also chosen to attend West Virginia Girls’ State, The American Legion’s good citizenship project. Miss Minnich will enter West Virginia University, Morgantown, this fall. The Martinsburg miss is the current “ Miss Berkely County ” (West Virginia). She was sponsored in the Festival’s contest by the Martinsburg-Berkeley County Chamber of Commerce
