He was charged with reckless driving.
The same day at 5:30 p.m. on Route 211 three and a half miles east of Washington Kenneth Allen Bennett of Arlington, operating a 1957 Chevrolet ran off the left of the road, back across the highway, jumped a ditch, knocked down a highway sign, jumped a rock wall and struck a wire fence before coming to rest. TTie vehicle was a total loss and Bennett sustained a fractured collarbone and had abrasions of the arm and back. He was charged with reckless driving.
Saturday at 1:30 a.m. three and a half miles west of Amissville on Route 211 Lewis William Dodson lost control of his 1966 Plymouth, ran off the right shoulder of the road, veered back onto the highway and off the left shoulder of the road and over the bank. Damage was estimated at $600. Dodson received lacerations of the face and head. He was charged with reckless driving.
At 8:30 p.m. a half mile west of Sperryville in front of Baldwin’s West End Shell Station two vehicles were involved in a collision. Samuel Albert Elder of Jacksonville, Fla. stopped in the west lane of the highway and backed across the road into the station when he was struck by a 63 Chevrolet operated by Clarence Dearing of Washington, Va. Elder was charged with reckless driving.
