Adult Ed. Classes to
Hold Open House
An open house will be held Thursday night, March 27 in connection with the Adult Education classes which have been held for the past ten weeks. The open house will be held at Rappahannock County High School from 8 until 9 p.m. There will be a display of the wood carving which has been done and of the furniture which has been re finished.
In addition there will be ar. exhibit of carvings by well known Rappahannock carvers including pieces by the late Joseph Reid and Henry Moten, both of Flint Hill. The Reid carving is said to have been done from the tree which was the scene of the “Willis hanging.”
There will also be a display of arc and gas welders and welding supplies. There will be five foot stools given as door prizes to five fortunate people attending the Open House. Refreshments will be served.
Certificates will be awarded those completing the classes
Auto Overturns in Collision with Deer
A Hyattsville, Md. couple were injured when their car over turned after striking a deer on Route 211 Sunday afternoon. Charles George Clark was operating a 1963 Lincoln traveling east on Route 211 two and seven tenth miles west of Sperryville when a deer jumped int® the road. Mr. Clark applied his brakes, struck the deer and then struck the left bank of the highway and turned over.
Clark sustained a lacerated left hand and contusion of the head. His wife, Gertrude L. Clark received a possible fractured neck, according to Trooper J.B. 'Willis.
