Jolly Kennedy returned to the University of Virginia Hospital on Tuesday for a check-up following surgery. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Wilby Grigsby and children of Culpeper were guests of Mr. Kennedy and his daughter, Mrs. Harold Benning.
Mr. and Mrs. Olney Kennedy had as their guests on Sunday afternoon Mrs. Kennedy’s nieces, Mrs. Lottie Clatterbuck and her son-in-law Bill Smith of Culpeper and Mrs. Jessie Jenkins of Mitchell. Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy were in Charlottesville Monday where Mr. Kennedy had a check-up at the University Hospital.
Layton - Jenkins
The marriage of Mrs. Ann Menefee Jenkins to Udel Clinton Layton took place in the Belmont Baptist Church, Charlottesville on Saturday, March 8, 1969. Dr. C. Spurgeon Paschall performed the ceremony at 3 o’clock.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Menefee of Sperryville and Mr. Layton is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Willie C. Layton of Waynesboro.
Mrs. Paschall provided traditional wedding music. The church was decorated with ferns and vases of red roses.
The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Roger Lea Menefee. She wore a street-length Navy blue sheath and matching veiled pillbox hat. Her corsage was of pink carnations.
Miss Diane Vess, niece of the bridegroom, was maid of honor. Her dress was Navy blue crepe with matching accessories and a corsage of yellow carnations.
Brenda Kay Menefee, niece of the bride, was flower girl and carried a basket of rose petals. Ring bearer was Robert Jenkins, Jr., son of the bride. Kenneth Layton was best man for his brother and ushers were Earl Menefee and Jack Lambert. | Mr. and Mrs. Layton will make Iheir home in Charlottesville.
