Rapley Owings has accepted the position of Extension Agent, Agriculture for Rappahannock County and will assume duties here April 1. Mr. Owings is no stranger here for he served as Assistant Agent in Rappahannock in 19SS-56. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland where he majored in Animal Science. Following his graduation he managed a beef cattle and seed farm. He served a tour of duty with the U. S. Marine Corps before coming to Rappahannock as Assistant Agent. Mr. Owings was in Korea as a provincial advisor with AID and for the past two years has been Extension Agent in Warren County. He will live in the small house at Caledonia, Flint Hill. Mr. Owings said he liked Rappahannock during his first assignment here and is happy to be back.
