The most valuable Christmas gift that Virginians can give tt]s year is one that will cost them nothing. Sounds like a great bargain gift suggestion? It is.
The idea comes from R. Kenneth Hudgins, Executive Director of the Old Dominion Eye Bank, an organization dedicated to the goal of providing human eye tissue for sight-restoring corneal transplant operations.
For many blind Virginians whose vision has been lost because of damaged or diseased corneas, renewed eyesight is possible by the transplantation of corneal tissue from the eyes of a recently deceased9 person. If this tissue is not made available by donation, these blind persons are destined to live in darkness for the rest of their lives. Money cannot help them - but you can.
