Visits West Point
Rappahannock County High School Principal, Dennis Wingfield has returned from a recent visit to the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York.
While there from 8 - 11, Mr. Wingfield and other educators from Virginia were briefed on the academic program offered by the military academy and given a tour of the facilities there.
Included were tours of the Library, Department of Law, Department of Tractics, Computer Center, Office of Physical Education and the Cadet Chapel. An explanation of the cadet honor code and cadet activities were also given. Mr. Wingfield was also invited to have lunch with the cadets and visit cadet living quarters to gain a more thorough insight of life at the academy. In addition to the very useful knowledge of the academic offerings Mr. Wingfield said he was most impressed by the “tremendous” discipline displayed by the cadets.
