Open Letter to Mr. Maurice O’Bannon, Mr. Philip Irwin, and Other Citizens of Rappahannock County:
Since I cannot be at the public meeting this Friday evening I would like to take this opportunity to voice my wholehearted support of your efforts to bring us together to seriously consider the long term effects of Pepco’s proposed high-powered transmission lines.
Your letter pointed up very well that it is we the electric users who, while enjoying the luxury of electric living, must have a say in what the cost will be to us and future generations. What good are our material comforts if through their enjoyment we destroy the beauty of our landscape, a part of our life that should be more dear to us than any push-button appliance that can be dreamed up?
