accompanied by Dabney Hughes Eastham was in Front Royal Saturday where she visited Mrs. Michael Bentley and daughter, Mrs. Helen Dawson and Mrs. Virginia Baltimore in the Warren Memorial Hospital. Sunday callers of Mrs. Eastham were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Grimsley of Hume.

Terry Russell is expected to arrive Friday from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg to spend the holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emory Russell.

Mrs. Mary Cleverley was the guest from Saturday until Monday of Mrs. John J. Hader in Silver Spring, Md.

Robert S. Foster is a patient in Winchester Memorial Hospital.

Dessert Bridge

Mrs. Fred W. Schaefer and Mrs. Mary M. Quaintance of Sperryvilte were co-hostesses at Dessert Bridge On Friday night at Hampton Inn. Their guests included Mrs. George Davis, Mrs. John R. DePergh, Mrs. William Moffett, Mrs. Carroll Quaintance, Mrs. Elmo Flynt, Mrs. Harry Lee Smith, Mrs. Henry M. Keyser, Mrs. B. M. Miller, Mrs. Brue Wood, Mrs. Paul Miller, Mrs. G. W. Smith, Jr., Mrs. F. W. Spalding, Mrs. John S. Browning, Mrs. Joel Jenkins, Mrs. Mary G. Edmonds, Mrs. T. L. Eastham, Mrs. Fisher Burford, Mrs. Wallace Russell and Mrs. Aubrey Keyser. Prizes were given to Mrs. Paul Miller, Mrs. Davis, Mrs. DeBergh, Mrs. Henry Keyser and Mrs. Harry Lee Smith.

A college degree is not necessarily needed for Antarctic research. Many non-college Navymen are vitally involved in this field.
