Hint Hill Buffet Dinner and Party
The first Christmas buffet dinner party for the Flint Hill Fire Company and their families was given by the ladies of the Auxiliary December 12, at the Fire Hall.
The committee for the affair consisted of Miss Ellen Mustoe, Mrs. Joe Smith, Miss Connie Huff, Mrs. Douglas By waters, Mrs. Jerry Campbell and Mrs. Edward Welch.
The hall was beautifully decorated with a Christmas tree, colorful tablecloths, candles and greens creating a warm and home-like atmosphere by committee members Miss Huff, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Bywaters and Mrs. Welch.
A welcoming speech was given by Mrs. Edward Welch with grace asked by Joe Smith. Mrs. G. W. Smith, Jr. read the story “The Littiest Angel.” Carol singing was led by Mrs. W. A. Gentry with Mrs. Paul Miller at the piano. Around a cake with candles the children sang “Happy Birthday, Dear Jesus.” While the ladies of the auxiliary were singing “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” Snata Claus arrived with candy canes for the children. Punch was served by Mrs. Larry Welch, Mrs. Joe Smith and Mrs. Douglas Bywaters.
H. S. Barksdale, President oi the Fire Company, expressed thanks and appreciation for the dinner.
