Panther Tales

This seems to be the week for Christmas events at R.C.H.S. The Seniors are very busy getting plans ready for the Christmas Dance to be held Saturday from 8 until 11 p.m. As an extra added attraction, Santa Claus will be there. Music will be provided by The Gravin’ Image.
The S.C.A. is planning a great Christmas assembly. The Choir will present some Christmas selections and the S.C.A. will share the talents of some great actors and actresses with us which they hope we will enjoy.
A Pep Rally was held Tuesday to get up some real spirit for the game with William Monroe. Many cheers were shouted to get the boys in the proper spirit for a win that night. The team depends on
streams and wildlife, not to mention us, now. Let us at least fight a delaying action, giving a new technology a chance to develop for future generations, a technology that will give us our material comforts, yes, but not at the cost of our nvironment--its beauty, its health, its immense diversity, its wonderment-the earth itself.
What we must do now is to start-and for our county a good way to start is to do everything we can to prevent any high power transmission lines cutting across it.

I think all readers of the Rappahannock News would appreciate it if announcements of impending public hearings on these subjects were carried prominently .ontlje front page, since tt&yareof greatImportance and interest to the entire county. Up to now I have had to look on the back page at small-type official advertisements or the letters column or hard-to-find news “mentions”.
