No payment should be sent with an application, said the division, ^ut it will be due at least 30 days before the cabin is to be used. The fee will not be refunded for a cancellation less than 30 days prior to the week of occupancy, except in case the cabin is rented to someone else.
A reservation is limited to one week, although it may be extended to a second week if the cottage has remained unreserved. Rentals begin and end on Mondays.
All cabins are furnished for family housekeeping. They accommodate from two to six persons, with rental rates scaled to cottage sizes and number of occupants, and are available on a non-racial basis.
State parks that have cabins are Claytor Lake, near Radford and Dublin in Pulaski County; Douthat, in Bath County north of Clifton Forge; Fairy Stone, in Patrick County near Bassett and Martinsville; Hungry Mother, north of Marion in Smyth County; Prince Edward, in Prince Edward County near Burkeville; Seashore, at Cape Henry in Virginia Beach; Staunton River, in Halifax County; and Westmoreland, on the Potomac River in Westmoreland County near Montross.
