A long tree-lined driveway leads to the stately main dwelling, which contains five bedrooms, five baths, two libraries or studios, an enormous drawing room, in addition to an office suite on the ground floor. The house was built when Rappahannock was still a part of Culpeper County. In “My Rappahannock Story Book”, the author, Mary Elizabeth Hite, relates that Jessamine Hill was the home of Thomas Fletcher and his wife, Susan Stark Fletcher, whose daughter, Virginia, married Dr. Kinsey. She inherited Jessamine Hill, and her son, George, who married his cousin, Mary Fletcher, also lived there.
John Kinsey inherited the property from his parents and in 1945 sold it to Mr. and Mrs. Edward Warner. The Warners sold it to Charles Marsh who added a large wing to the house. The property was purchased by Mr. Lindgren nine years ago.
