Mrs. Ethel Williams
Mrs. Ethel Mae Williams, 77, of Chester Gap, died Wednesday, January 27, 1971 in the Warren Memorial Hospital.
She was the widow of Daniel Harvey Williams. Born in Dobbin. W. Va., she was a daughter of the late Henry Elkins and Elizabeth Vincent Elkins.
Survivors include two sons, Raymond Dulin and James Williams, both of Chester Gap; two daughters, Mrs. Edith Williams of Chester Gap and Mrs. Effie Settle of Castleton; two brothers, Henry Elkins of Huntly and George Elkins of Front Royal; 20 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Williams is also survived by a stepson. Winter Williams of Martinsburg; and three step-daughters, Mrs. Dora LeHew of Waterlick, Mrs. Helen Woodward of Happy Creek and Mrs. Nannie Hurt of Browntown.
A funeral service was held Saturday in the Chester Gap Baptist Church at 2 o'clock conducted by the Rev. Charles Palmore and the Rev. Roy Mathena. Interment was in the Williams Cemetery at Chester Gap. Active pallbearers were Archie Dawson, Sandy Robinson, Terry Parker, Emmett Blankenship,
Sherman Williams and Johnj Wayne Settle.
