on Route 522, two and eight tenths miles north of Flint Hill one car crashed into the left bank of the road. Dennis Michael Bailey of Front Royal operating a 1963 Chevrolet lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the bank after running off the left of the highway. Damage was set at $500 and he was cited for reckless driving.
Saturday night at 11:30 p.m. in Sperryville on Route 522 two vehicles collided. Involved in the accident were John Newman Dodson of Sperryville in a 60 Ford and William B. Dickerson of Pittsburgh, Pa. in a 61 Mercury. Dodson made a left turn in front of the Dickerson car and the two collided in the left lane.
Dodson was charged with reckless driving and damage to his car was estimated at $150. Damage to Dickerson was set at $400 and his wife, Thelm and daughter Angela, 8, sustained abrasion to the left eye and contusion of the forehead, respectively. They were taken to Warren Memorial Hospital by Sperryville Rescue Squad where they were treated and released.
Robert Arthur Driscoll of Knoxville, Tenn., now staying in Culpeper, was charged with failing to drive to the right of the road following a two-car crash Sunday evening on Route 622 (Harris Hollow) near Washington. Driscoll, operating a 65 Mercury, struck Robert McDuffie Gamble jr. of Washington, D. C. on the icy roadway. Gamble, new proprietor of Skyline Ski Area, was driving a 68 Mercedes which received an estimated $250 damages. Damage to the Mercury was set at $150.

Monday morning a single-car crash occurred at the county line east of Amissville because of icy hazardous conditions.
