The Veterans Administration today announced that estimated expenditures for Virginia for fiscal 1970 totaled 203.7 million dollars, of which 139,863 was for Rappahannock County.
The Director of the Roanoke VA Regional Office said that the bulk of the money was 120.2 million dollars in disability compensation and pension payments for Virginia veterans—96,194 for Rappahannock County veterans.
Other VA expenditures in Rappahannock County for fiscal 70 were 16,145 for GI Bill and other VA education programs, and 15,024 for insurance and indemnities.
Additional expenditures in Rappahannock County included direct loans of 12,500.
