What was done to avoid conflict with historical sites along the route?
The president of the Rappahannock County Historical Society was contacted and informed us that there was no conflict between the line route and historical sites in the County.
Could the line be put underground?
Yes, but the cost would be prohibitive. Our estimates indicate that undergrounding in this case could be as much as 8 to 10 times more costly than standard overhead construction.
Doesn’t Virginia Electric Power Company now sell power to PE in this area?
Yes. We have an agreement with VEPCO by which we can receive up to 12,000 kva. We, in turn, supply a similar amount to VEPCO in the Strasburg area. They have indicated to us, however, that because of load growth in their area it is highly unlikely that they would be in a position to provide any additional power to us.
