Clerk M. Jones, informed the Board that files and supplies for the General Registrar’s office had been selected and ordered and that the cost was less than at first assumed. Spring brought termites out of the woodwork in some of the county buildings and estimates from three companies had been secured for the eradication of them. A low bid of $800 was accepted and the clerk was requested to notify the company. The County Agent’s office had been treated earlier when severe infestation was discovered. The budget committee reports the first million dollar budget for
Rappahannock County, however,| no tax levy increase is anticipated in view of the healthy surplus of funds in the treasury. Of the million dollars $700,000 is allocated for school operations and a hundred thousand for welfare payment and administration. The budget will be published as proposed prior to a date set for a public hearing.
