VDAC Warns Public
Of Ironstone China
The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Commerce (VDAC) today warned consumers not to use Royal Blue Ironstone chinaware distributed by Food Fair stores and Pantry Pride, for either serving or storing food. Lead in the blue floral pattern has been found harmful to humans. Royal Blue Ironstone is white with a blue decorative pattern. It was manufactured in England and imported by Seymart Import Co. of New York. The chinaware was distributed in Virginia, Maryland, and District of Columbia as a promotional program between September 1970 and January 1971. The product is no longer being distributed.
