received a trophy. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Burgess of Richmond were guests last week of Mrs. Burgess’ brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Norman and sons of Rockville, Md. spent l he weekend at their home here and visited Mr. and Mrs. M. D. Norman and family. Donald Settle of Takoma Park, Md., the John N. Woodward family of Culpeper and the Oliver Faulkner family of Castleton were Sunday guests of Mrs. Charlie Settle. Mrs. Settle was a guest of ihe Faulkners Saturday. Mrs. R. L. Rudasill returned home Saturday after being a patient in Culpeper Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Henry Wood was hostess to a cook-out Thursday evening in honor of Dr. and Mrs. James H. Johnson, Tommie and Judy Johnston. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Johnson, Mrs. Mary B. Quaintance and Mrs. Carroll Quaintance, Mr. Wood, Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Wood, Jr. and Henry B. Dinner guests Sunday of the Henry Woods were Dr. and Mrs. Carroll Quaintance, Mrs. Mary Botts Quaintance of Sperryville and John Quaintance of Alexandria who spent the weekend in the Wood home. Dr. and Mrs. James H. Johnson and son Tommie left Saturday to return to their home in Lakeland, Fla. Their daughters Jo Anne and Judy remained for a longer visit with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. A. Q. Craun of Montford were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Brown and family. Bridgett Brown is visiting the Crauns this week. Mrs. Gevin Turner and sons Bruce and Brian of Mobile, Ala. were guests last week of Mr. and Mrs. Robert P. Anderson and family.
Birthday Celebrated
Douglas Cumins of Sperryville celebrated his twelfth birthday August 16 with a swimming party at Graves Lodge, Syria. Joining him were Chuckie Sisk, Greg Wayland, Charla Ann Sisk, Cindy Cumins, Mrs. Joan Cumins and Mrs. J. B. Perkins. Dinner with birthday cake was enjoyed at home with Mr. Perkins joining them.
