The visit last Wednesday of the American Red Cross Bloodmobile to Rappahannock County was the most satisfactory one for some years. After an extreme effort was made by a number of volunteer workers, more donors were prompted to present themselves to give blood. The total number of donors was 64 and they are listed below. The response of these people is encouraging and appreciated. Unless the county keeps up its blood quota they will not be eligible to participate in the Red Cross Blood program when it is needed by them. Those appearing at the Bloodmobile included: Mrs. N.K. G. Miss Judy Burtnere received a Master of Education degree on August 14, 1971 from the University of Virginia, majoring in counseling in higher education. She had obtained her B. S. degree in Home Economics Education from Madison College in 1966,
Miss Burtner was Extension Agent Home Economics in Rappahannock County for two years prior to entering the University of Virginia. She had also served as home agent two and a half years in Brunswick County and had taught home economics in Greensville County High School at Emporia.
Miss Burtner will assume the position of Extension Home Economist for King George County September 1 and will continue to do graduate work at U. Va.
