Douglas T. Smith
Graveside services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Front Royal for Douglas Thomas Smith of Front Royal, conducted by the Rev. Brian Whittaker.
Mr. Smith died August 20, 1971 in the Medical College of Virginia Hospital in Richmond.
He was born in Livingston, Mont., a son of the late Daniel and Nora Hanlon Smith.
He was the chief industrial engineer of the Front Royal Plant of FMC for 22 years. After retiring from that post he served as executive secretary of the Chamber of Commerce of Front Royal and Warren County. He was a member of the Society for the Advancement of Management. He owned and operated a farm for twenty years on the Fodder Stack Road near Washington, Va. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Helen Cunningham; one son, Capt. Douglas D. C. Smith, U.S. Air Force; one daughter, Mrs. Joseph C. Pitt of London, Ontario, Canada; and two sisters, Mrs. Adrian Reimers of Sarasota, Fla., and Miss Veronica Smith of Syracuse, N.Y.
