Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Welch were Sunday visitors of Mrs. James Fincham and Mrs. Owen Sealock.

Mrs. G. W. Smith, Jr., Mrs. Paul Miller, Mrs. Joel Jenkins, Mrs. F. W. Spalding and Mrs. Spalding’s sister-in-law, Mrs. J. W. Kendrick, Jr. of Roanoke returned Wednesday from a week’s vacation at Virginia Beach. Mrs. E. M. Eastham’s brother the Rev. J, P. Pullen of Danville was her visitor during the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Edward E. Clark and three sons spent last week as the guests of Mr. Clark’s mother, Mrs. Winifred Clark in Derry, N H. Mrs. B. J. Wood and her mother, Mrs. Odessa Dunn, were callers Saturday of Mrs. W. C. Campbell and Miss Mary Miller Wood in Washington, Va.

Mrs. Mary Cleverley spent the weekend at the Golden Triangle in Norfolk and attended the Republican State Convention held at the Arena to nominate a candidate for Lt. Governor in the November elections.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Clatterbuck and Sammie spent a recent weekend at Westmoreland Park and Colonial Beach. On Sunday they visited Mrs. Clatterbuck’s parents Mr. and Mrs. Robert Miller at Hamilton. Miss Elsie Dodson spent several days last week with her sister Miss Margaret Dodson in Alexandria.

Mrs. James M. Vest and children Leigh and Curtis joined Mr. Vest and their son Johnny at Norfolk for the weekend where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hoagus and spent some time at Virginia Beach. They were dinner guests Saturday evening of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Glenn at Portsmouth and went on a fishing trip Sunday.
