Mrs. Don Rhodes and children of Woodbridge were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Priest and with them attended the Primitive Baptist Association meeting held Sunday at Winchester.
Vesper Speaker
The Reverend Dr. Myron S. Augsburger, President of Eastern Mennonite College and Seminary in Harrisonburg, Virginia, will be the speaker at the Sunset Vesper Program at the Singing Tower in Luray, Virginia, on Sunday, August 29th. The Singing Tower is adjacent to the Luray Caverns.
Dr. Augsburger was born in Elida, Ohio, and currently resides in Harrisonburg with his wife, Esther, and three children. He received his A. B. and Th. B. from Eastern Mennonite College and a B. D. from Goshen College Biblical Seminary in Goshen, Indiana. Dr. Augsburger earned his Master of Theology and Doctor of Theology Degrees from Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia. He has done postgraduate study from George Washington University in Washington, D. C. Along with being President of Eastern Mennonite College and Seminary, Dr. Augsburger is also Chairman of the Board of InterChurch Evangelism, Inc. There will be a Carillon Recital at 6:45 p.m., Charles Chapman, Carillonneur. The Sunset Vesper Program will begin at 7:15 p.m. The Choir of The National City Christian Church of Washington, D. C., under the direction of Lawrence P. Schreiber, will present the evening musical portion of the program. The program leaders for the evening will be The Reverend D. Paul Mishler and The Reverend Jimmy L. Bruce. In the event of rain, the service will be held at the Luray United Methodist Church.
