Horn Blowing at
Library Tonight
An interesting evening is planned for tonight at the Rappahannock Library with its first program of the Fall season.
Starting at 7 o’clock on the steps of the Library a fox horn-blowing contest will take place with participation by seasoned fox hunters, members of the Northern Virginia Foxhunters Assoc. Among them will be two father and son teams, Walter and Richard Burke of Woodville and J. Lawton Blankenbaker and his son Jack of Haywood; also Jack Bruce of Sperryville, and the very youngest member, Randy Smith, age 8, of Amissville. All this talent has been assembled by William H. Lyne of Rappahannock who has a fine pack of his own.
Following the contest Jane Mcllvaine McClary, International fox hunting enthusiast and authoritative writer, will account some of her exciting experiences in fox hunting. An unusual and timely program is planned for the enjoyment of all.

Annual Meet Nov. 18
The second annual meeting of the Rappahannock Mental Health Association will be held Thursday, November 18 at the Rappahannock Library, Washington, Va. at 8 p.m. Speakers will include Dr. John Peyton Snead, Child Psychiatrist, Mrs. Patricia Saltonstall, Washington Area Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, Inc., |$vd Mr. Tom Parker, a Richmond Attorney and Virginia Delegateon the Board of Directors of the National Association for Mental Health. A short business meeting will be held and election of officers. Local individuals and organizations support the Association and its business should be of interest and concern to all in Rappahannock County.

The Rappahannock Board of Zoning appeals will hear the request of the Potomac Edison Company of Virginia for a special use permit on Thursday, November 18 at 10 a m. in Rappahannock Courthouse, Washington, Va. Ther utility company desires to construct, erect and maintain a 138 KV transmission line from Riverton in Warren County to Boston in Culpeper. The proposed line would extend through Rappahannock County. The initial hearing on this matter took place in December of last year and continued on June 18 of this year. All interested parties wishing to be heard are requested to be present for the hearing.
