Mrs. Earl Edmonds of Huntly has been named Christmas Seal Chairman for Rappahannock County by W‘. Lawson Cowart, president of the Tuberculosis and Respiratory Disease Association of Northern Virginia.
Mrs. Edmonds states that though the rate of new cases of tuberculosis is dropping each year, the incidence of emphysema, a crippling lung disease, is rising to be the fastest growing disease in the country. She urges each of the Rappahannock County citizens to support the work of the Tuberculosis and Respiratory Disease Association of Northern Virginia through their contributions to Christmas Seals. Help stem the ever increasing respiratory diseases created by air pollution and cigarette smoking.
Registrar Still Needs Social Security Numbers
Though^ the fall elections are over and done with, the Rappahannock County Registrar continues -to seek the Social Security number of each registered voter in this county. There are at least 500 voters registered who have not given their Social Security number. If you have not done so, please comply.
Often there are several people with the same name or initials in a community. By having the persons Social Security number much confusion can be avoided during an election.
