Mrs. Ella May White
Mrs. Ella May Downing White, 82, of Front Royal died November 7,1971 at her residence. She was a native of Fauquier County, the daughter of the late John Albert Downing and Nannie Robinson Downing. She had lived at one time in Rappahannock County near Huntly. She was the widow of John Downing White. Survivors include a daughter, Miss Evelyn White of Front Royal and a son, J. D. White, both of Front Royal; and three grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Tuesday at Mdddox Funeral Home, Front Royal with the Rev. H. H. Hughes conducting the rites. Interment was in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Robert Leach, Robert White, James C. Downing, William H. Downing, J. H. Downing, Charles Frazier, William Mason and Anthony Haynie.
Oscar C. Butler
A funeral service for Oscar Collier Butler of Boston will be held Thursday, (today) at 1:45 p.m., at the Geest Funeral Home Chapel, Culpeper. Rev. McArthur Jollay, assisted by the Rev. John McKay will conduct the service. Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery.
Mr. Butler, 75, died November 8, 1971 at his residence, following a sudden illness. A native of Rappahannock County, he was the son of the late Charles L. and Maude Carder Butler. He was a veteran of World War I.
He is survived by a brother, George Richard Butler of Boston; a sister, Mrs. Lizzie Berry of Arlington; and several nieces and nephews.
