Honorary Seal Chinn.
Jack Lemmon, Academy Award-winning motion picturt star, will serve as 1971 National Honorary Christmas Seal Campaign Chairman. The an nouncement was made by John H. Biddle, president of the National Tuberculosis and Respiratory Disease Association, who said, “Jack Lemmon cares about clear air.” Mr. Lemmon was named to head up the annual Christmas Seal Campaign because of his concern about air conservation, which is one of the major interests of TB-RD associations throughout the nation. “We count ourselves fortunate,” said Mrs. Earl Edmonds, Christmas Seal Chairman from Rappahannock County, “to jiave Jack Lemmon’s support for our 1971 Christmas Seal Campaign. He is approaching the fight against air pollution with the same singleminded drive that established him as one of the nation’s most popular actors. An ardent spokesman for clean air, Jack Lemmon has urged consumer boycotts of polluting industries, support of effective air pollution controls, and personal conservation in auto use and waste disposal. He has also expressed a personal interest in the relationship between dirty air and respiratory disease, such as emphysema.
