This huge Christmas cactus, laden with delicate, shining deep pink blooms, was raised from a plant slip which originally came from the late Mrs. R. G.Quaintance of Woodville. It belongs to Mrs. Silas O’Bannon of near Warrenton and measures 4 feet 7 inches in diameter. She has had the cactus about 12 years and it takes two men to bring it in the house when the weather becomes cold after it has stayed outside in the summer. Mrs. O'Bannon is quite a botanist and treats her plants with tender care.
