or Blessings?
Aerosol cans have captured the approval of John Q. Public for their easy application of ready-to-use products.
“And,” reported R. H. Gruenhagen, a Virginia Tech professor and Extension specialist in chemicals, drugs and pesticides, “the average American realizes the aerosol can may be a blessing or a bomb.”
Gruenhagen told of a recent industry survey indicating 2,622 billion aerosol or pressurized containers were filled in 197Q. Personal and household products lead the list. Also available in pressure cans were; paints, other coatings, industrial products, pesticide sprays and foods.
“Attesting to their popularity is their use in an average family on an average day. Father started the day using shaving lather frpm an aerosol can. Another product tamed his unruly hair. He also used an aerosol deodorant and another product to disinfect a raw spot on his toe.
