Spillman heads Co-op . AT THE ORGANIZATIONAL meeting of the Culpeper Farmers’ Co-operative, William A. Spillman Jr. was elected president. W.H. Hurt, retiring president, is 75 and has been president since 1964. The Co-operative has grown from $3,000,000 to $6,000,000 under Hurt’s leadership. Hurt retired earlier this year as president of the Virginia Baptist Home. The new president has been a director of the Culpeper Farmers’ Co-operative since 1957. He is owner and operator of the Spillman Farm Management Services. He was a member of the Culpeper County School Board, helped organize and was first chairman of the local soil conservation district. He also helped organize and was original director of the Culpeper Livestock Market. Earl S. Hawkins was re-elected vice-president, William Bywaters secretary-treasurer, John H. Willis assistant secretary-treasurer and James E. Cornett, general manager.
