LOUDOUN County is fighting one of the largest builders in the country, Levitt, and demanding them to either build the schools or turn the revenue funds over to the County for the County to build, to prevent having to tax the taxpayer this additional burden.
Taxes in the County that 1 now live in have increased in many instances over 2,000 percent on businesses, in a seven to eight year period, and homes which were taxed $175 per year in our County are now being taxed $700 to $1,000 per year because the County has permitted builders to build subdivisions and the people of the County had to turn around and buy land to develop the school program. Our school budget has increased from $4,300,000 to $48,000,000, and the local taxpayers have paid the brunt of this budget.
I PURCHASED a farm between Rappahannock and Washington for the rural setting your County offers, and it would break my heart to see your County chopped up with four houses per acre lots, or 12townhouses per acre, which would destroy one of the most beautiful counties in Virginia.
