T.I. Martin
T.I. Martin of Culpeper died March 28 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital at the age of 80. Mr. Martin was mayor of Culpeper for 12 years and a member of the town council for 28.
A funeral service will be held today, Thursday, at 2 p.m. at Culpeper Baptist Church with burial in Fairview Cemetery. The Rev. John S. Farrar will conduct the rites.
In addition to his service to the town, he worked for such community projects as the Culpeper Memorial Hospital and the Culpeper fire department. He was a deacon of Culpeper Baptist Church.
Martin was vice president of Pitts Theaters, a member of the Rotary, Merchants Association, Chamber of Commerce, Virginia Motion Picture Association and National Association of Theatres, to name a few.
Survivors include two sons, T.I. Martin Jr. and William H. Martin, both of Culpeper; and six grandsons. □
