RAPPAHANNOCK’S Supervisors are scheduled to talk about a comprehensive plan for the county at their meeting today (Thursday). The county Planning Commissioners have done some preliminary work on the plan and hope to have a “goals statement’ ’ ready by next month. But now they are asking the Supervisors to pay half the cost of hiring the Piedmont Environmental Council, which is headquartered in Warrenton, to prepare an “environmental inventory’’ of Rappahannock County.
An environmental inventory embraces a study of topography, watersheds, wildlife habitat, scenic and critical environmental areas. Some of this information is already available, according to Fanning Baumgardner, clerk to the Planning Commission. In that case, the Piedmont Environmental Council would analyze the material.
