SEVERAL PERSONS took turns criticizing the rural transportation study, which is supposed to be under way in Fauquier. Supervisor Sanford of Orange said “if I were from Fauquier, I’d certainly object to the phrases in the proposed study about ‘rural pockets of poverty.’” David Botts and McNear agreed.
Pete Luke noted that there had already been a rural transportation study in Madison, and he wondered why another one was needed. “That study was to identify the need,” said McNear. “Hell, I know there’s a need. You don’t need a study for that,” said Pete Luke.
