opening day success
“RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY deer hunters apparently enjoyed two
successful days of hunting in the good weather when the 1974-75
season opened here Monday,” said Game Warden Irvin L. Kenyon,
Jr. “Hunting pressure diminished Wednesday with the rain. With
the use of actual figures and a little guesswork, the Warden said the
deer take through the first two days looked like this: Station 1st day 2nd day This totals 98 for the two days in Rappahannock.
In addition, four bucks were checked by the game warden and five deer were taken by bow hunters during the special archery season.
These figures represent a slight increase from last year during a
similar period. Only two turkeys have been checked here and both
