INCOME questionnaires will be mailed with Veterans Administration pension checks for November, and must be returned by January 1, instead of the customary January 15 deadline. Roanoke VA Regional Office Director, W.H. Highfill, Jr. explained that the new earlier filing date was set to relieve the annual logjam in preparation of January checks when questionnaires were received near or after the former January 15 deadline. Pensioners in Virginia are urged to complete and return the Forms as soon after receipt as possible.
Under the law, VA mails annual income questionnaires to veterans on non-service-connected pension rolls, widows of veterans receiving pensions based on the nonservice-connected death of a husband, and certain parents who receive monthly checks because of the service-connected death of a veteran or serviceman.
