MEMBERS of the Virginia Beef

MEMBERS of the Virginia Beef Cattle Improvement Association (BCIA), who are breeders of purebred seed stock of all breeds, are testing a record number of bulls at the three BCIA central test stations this year.

A. L. Eller Jr., Extension specialist in animal science at Virginia Tech, reported that in addition to the Culpeper test station, in its 17th year of continuous operation, and the Red House Bull Evaluation Center, in its third year of operation, there is a new southwest test station at the Valleydale Farms Incorporated

OBITUARIES

Robert Brown

A funeral service for Robert Fulton Brown, 71, of Sperryville was held Thursday at Clore Funeral Home in Culpeper, conducted by the Rev. Ronald Wiley. Interment was Friday in Olive Branch Cemetery, Portsmouth.

Mr. Brown died November 12, 1974 in Orange County Nursing Home. He was a native of Rappahannock County, a retired Navy Yard employe. He is survived by two step-daughters, Mrs. Joseph Stevens of Winston, Ga. and Mrs. Tommy Capel of Portsmouth; and three sisters, Mrs. A.R. Partlow of Culpeper and Mrs. Earl Wayland and Mrs. Eddie Gore, both of Sperryville.□

R.W. Irwin

Ronald Wayne Irwin, 17, of Culpeper died in a traffic crash November 17 in Culpeper County. He was the son of James Donald Irwin of Front Royal and Mrs. Stanley Reid of Culpeper, both who survive. Mr. and Mrs. Dudley Pullen of Chester Gap, Mrs. Cecil Cornwell and James Irwin of Front Royal are surviving grandparents.

Other survivors include his step-father, Stanley Reid; a sister, Tina Marie Reid; two brothers, Donald Lee Irwin and Stanley F. Reid, all of Culpeper.

A funeral service was held Tuesday at the Clore Funeral Home Chapel, Culpeper conducted by the Rev. Robert Ellis. Burial was in Hillcrest Memory Gardens. He was employed by Culpeper Frozen Foods -Inc.D
