According to Highfill, thousands of beneficiaries missed the former January 15 deadline over the years. Prompt return of questionnaires by the new January 1 deadline will avoid delays in next year’s checks, he said, stressing that a special effort is needed this year by the late filers to comply with the new deadline. □
