The following day a collision occurred in front of Hackley’s Store at Amissville involving Will Pendleton in a ’68 Ford pickup and a Kenworth Tractor-trailor rig driven by Steven R. Lee of Fredericksburg.
According to Trooper Buntin, Pendleton started to make a turn into the store area, then changed his mind and started back into the highway when the truck slightly bumped the rear of the pickup. Damage to each vehicle was estimated at $50.
Richard Jobe of Stanley struck a deer on Route 211 three miles west of Sperryville on December 13. According to Trooper John A. Watson, he was operating a 1972 Chevrolet and was westbound when the deer jumped in front of him.
Another deer, auto collision occurred December 18 and was also investigated by Trooper Watson. Artelia Roy of Front Royal was driving a 73 Ford on Route 522 just north of Foster Brothers packing house when the animal leaped into the highway. Damage
