An orchard demonstration was given Friday under the direction of the Extension Service for interested area fruit growers. An orchard near Washington was the setting for the demonstrations which included pruning, rodent control, fertilizing and related subjects. Fred Drieling, a V.P.I. horticulturist, explains pruning procedures, above and below he prunes a young tree to leave a leader growth and to do away with water sprouts and vertical growth.
