Deer harvest up
District 2 Game Biologist Max M. Carpenter reports that the deer hunters managed bumper harvests in five of the six counties in his jurisdiction. Although incomplete at this time,the preliminary deer harvest totals are, by county, as follows:
Clarke, 221 for a 23.0% increase; Frederick, 959, 7.0% increase; Page, 385, 16.0% increase; Rockingham, 2221, .01% increase;Shenandoah, 1276, .02% increase, and Warren County, 428 which represents a decrease of 17.0%.
Results for the pheasant season in those counties were: Clarke, 3; Frederick, 1; Page, 132; Rockingham, 35; Shenandoah, 57 and Warren 0.D
