Marine Sgt. Kenneth W. Gochenhour, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Atkins of Sperryville, Va., was meritoriously promoted _ to his present rank while serving with the Military Police Section at the Marine Corps Air Station, El Toro, Santa Ana, Calif. A meritorious promotion is awarded only to those Marines who have distinguished themselves through work, military bearing and leadership. A 1971 graduate of Rappahannock County High School, Washington, Va., he joined the Marine Corps in November 1971.
