SOIL and water conservation practices have been carried out by more than 12,300 Virginia farmers in co-operation with the Rural Environmental Assistance Program (REAP) and the Rural Environmental Conservation Program (RECP) for the 1974 program year.
The conservation program is a cost-sharing partnership where the public joins with farmers in conserving and protecting soil, water, forest and wildlife. The conservation program also provides an economic boost to the communities, towns, and cities by providing additional agricultural business.
