County ASCS Office inquiring about conservation practices for this year. At this time, we still have not received authority to take requests for cost-shares on a 1975 conservation program. We understand that funds have been appropriated for the program, but how much, when, and the type of program remain to be determined.
We will publicize the program as soon as we are authorized to do so. Producers hoping to request cost-sharing for a practice involving the use of fertilizer and/or lime should make preparations now by taking soil samples.—John G. Ransone, County Executive Director
