Baptist Missionary Field Service from 1912 until 1951. After returning to this country he was the pastor of Oak Grove Baptist Church at Oak Grove.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mildred Florence Nasmith Witter of Culpeper; four daughters, Mrs. John Hodge of Spindale, N. C., Mrs. Owen Booth of Tuscon, Ariz., Mrs. Barbara W. Graham of Granada Hill, Calif, and Mrs. John Donovan of Brunswick, Me.

A funeral service conducted by his son-in-law, the Rev. John Hodge was held at the graveside at Shiloh Baptist Church in King George on Monday. The Rev. Witter was associated in this area through his son-in-law and daughter, the Hodges, when Mr. Hodge was minister at Amissville Baptist Church.□
