A “WILDERNESS” designation for portions of the Shenandoah National Park was discussed by Bob Jacobsen, park superintendent, last Friday night at the quarterly meeting of the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection. Jacobsen was a late addition to RLEP’s program, after talk about proposed Wilderness status for parts of the park aroused some controversy at several recent public meetings in Rappahannock and surrounding counties.
